Owney The Traveling Dog 2007-2008

We was sent out Four Owneys this fall.

Our 50 state groups (A and B) receive an Owney like the one above. He has he will visit 25 states with group A and 25 states with group with group B. Owney is traveling with a photocopy of Lynn Hall's Book Owney the Traveling Dog and a journal that he would like classes to sign. Owney is on his way. We still need more schools him to visit. Below you will find his present schedule. We need a school from Washington, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, North Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Delaware.

Please remember to send post card to schools in both groups. I have only done it this way to try to make it easier for everyone to get Owney before school is out.

I will be sending out the schedule to a (C and D) group that takes more time later. Group A and B do not need to send cards to the third group.

In Owney box you will find him wearing some pins from states in the A or B group. That way everyone will get to see an Owney with pins.

There is also a photocopied book of Owney by Lynn Hall. We have permission for the copying. Please make sure these copies are in the box when it is sent on to the next school.

You will also find a notebook to sign.
I hope you enjoy the project.

Groups C and D Owneys do not try to visit all the states. These group have Owney spend more time at their school. To help our friends in the slower groups enjoy learning about Maine, we have included  a book called L is for Lobster. They also get a photocopy of Lynn Hall's Book Owney the Traveling Dog and a journal that he would like classes to sign.

In Owney box you will find him wearing some pins from states in the C or D group. That way everyone will get to see an Owney with pins.

Please remember to send post card to schools in both groups. I have only done it this way to try to make it easier for everyone to get Owney before school is out.

Look through our past Owney projects and see the interesting things Owney did with the classes that he visited.
