1. Describe the influences of media on health.

 

Students will be aware that advertisements, television, radio, newspapers and magazines may try to affect the way you make choices. .

Watch taped advertisements and show magazine advertisements. Discuss how they try to get you to buy something or behave and how it relates to your health.

Make poster advertising a healthful product. Tell why someone should buy it.

2. Explain how information from school and family influences health.

 

Students will be aware that they are able to gain information about health from their school and family.

Read to class parts of school newsletters and menues that deal with health issues.
Students write health tips and have them included in the school newsletters.

Write one health rule they learned from home or school. May be an illustration.
