Skills Students will be able
to: 1. Demonstrate healthy ways to express
needs, wants and feelings. Students will be able to communicate
their feelings and wants appropriately. Discuss and role play polite ways to
ask for needs or wants. Teacher observation Communication 2. Distinguish between verbal and
nonverbal communication. Students will be able to recognize
different emotions based on nonverbal cues. Role play with different emotions
using the same phrase.(ie: "yeah, right" said happily, in
agreement, sarcastically, angrily, etc.) Teacher observation of student
interactions. Tone of voice
Students will understand that skillful communication can
contribute to better health for themselves, their families and the
community.
