Content Standard: G. Stylistic and
Rhetorical Aspects of Writing and Speaking Students will be able to: 1. Write pieces and make remarks that
begin to use descriptive language that clarifies, enhances,
and develops ideas. See Spandel's Traits of Students will practice writing and
revising for the trait of Ideas. Students will be assessed on "Ideas"
using Fall/Spring Writing Prompts and/or teacher selected
pieces of student writing. (See also ELA E3) ideas 2. Write stories (or other pieces)
that show a definite beginning (introduction), middle

on a particular subject and support their ideas with

Rubric for "Informational Writing" using Fall/Spring Writing
Prompts and/or teacher selected pieces of student writing.

a variety of intended audiences and identifiable
purposes. . Students will practice writing and
revising stories for the traits of Voice, Word Choice, and
Sentence Fluency. Students will be assessed on "Voice,"
"Word Choice," and "Sentence Fluency" using Fall/Spring
Writing Prompts and/or teacher selected pieces of student

spoken communications. Students will discuss and explain ways
in which communication is used in their daily

gestures and eye contact and use this knowledge in their

Students will practice applying these to their own

technological resources to make creative and expository oral
presentations. . Students will practice giving oral
presentations using information gathered through the media
and/or technology. Students will give an oral
presentation incorporating the use of media and
technology. .
