Content Standard: D. Probability 1. Use concepts of chance and record
outcomes of simple events. Prediction and Probability Record information Students will make spinners with
divisions showing colors or numbers and stopping point. They
will spin and then record where it stopped 10 times. Discuss
probability factors. Resources: Roll a die data sheet,
Houghton Mifflin 1995, p.42 101 worksheet Given a bag of objects, the student
will draw an object from the bag and record what it was. the
student will repeat this 20 times. Then he/she will write what they think
is in the bag and estimate the number of each
color. Note The objects can be colored
tiles, cubes, or bears, etc. Resource predict

Students will roll a die 20 times
and record the results. This information will be used to
make a class graph to discuss.
The bag should contain 5-9 objects. There can be multiples
of the same colored object.
