1. Classify sets of objects into two or more groups using their attributes

Identify ways to classify objects:

Students will be given practice sorting and grouping a variety of objects:

  • Attribute blocks
  • Cuisinaire Rods
  • Pattern Blocks
  • colored pencils,crayons, etc.

Given an assortment of buttons or keys, the student will group the object and describe how the objects fit their classification.

Using attribute blocks, color bears, buttons, M&Ms etc. children will sort. They will make a list of categories.

One attribute

Children will be given series of numbers to make a license plate for their bike. How many number combination can they make on a 4 number license plate.

LAD Task Creature Cards

Given the problem, the student is going on a vacation and is taking 5 different colored T-shirts and 3 pairs of different colored shorts. The student will draw and write the solutions for all the possible combinations of shirts and shorts.
