1. Describe, with examples, how the exchange of goods and services helps to create economic interdependence between people in different places and countries.

Household items which are imported (toys, TVs, food, clothing) vs. Maine produced items which are exported (blueberries, lobsters, paper and wood products)

The students will make a list of items around the house which were produced in a foreign country. They will make a class graph.
The students will brainstorm a list of items we might trade to another country.

The students will list at least three things that you use which were made in another country and at least 3 things from Maine which would be exported to another country.
