1. Identify similarities and differences in the characteristics of individuals who have made significant contributions to society in different eras.

Qualities of individuals could include:

  • honesty
  • integrity
  • perseverance
  • curiosity
  • spirit of adventure, etc.

Students will be taught how to compare and contrast.

Students will read or listen to biographies of individuals who have made significant contributions to society in different eras.
Students will learn about a number of important inventors and will discuss the qualities of these people.
Students will discuss holidays based on these individuals.
Students will brainstorm a list of qualities of a leader.

Students will write a comparison of two significant individuals including (graphic organizer, discussion, or paragraph)
