Compare and contrast transportation and communication in historical periods studied.

The students will compare and contrast car, horse, train, trucking.

The students will prepare a Venn diagram comparing transportation and communication technologies in two different eras. They will write as essay describing these changes.

2. Evaluate how world trade issues can affect a nation's economy and how trade can influence and transform societies.

Trade issues and economy both past and present.

The students will participate in the Box Car simulation. 
They will examine common goods and determine the country of origin.
