2. Develop maps, globes, charts, models, and databases to analyze geographical patterns on the earth.

Five themes of geography:

  • place
  • location
  • human environment interaction
  • movement
  • regions

Students will identify in large groups common geographical patterns found on earth.

Students will create a map of a country that shows their understanding of the five themes of geography.

3. Understand United States social, political, and economic divisions and the more significant social political divisions in world geography.

Social, political, and economic divisions:

  • Colonization
  • American Revolution

Students will identify and analyze the 3 Colonial divisions (New England, Middle, and Southern).

Students will create a product that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the social, political, and economic divisions of Colonial America.
