Kathy Roberts - Reading & Writing

I graduated from the University of Maine in Orono, long ago before there was a pool or a hockey rink on campus. I have a B.A. in English with a minor in history. I have also taken several business courses at BNAS.

I've been teaching at BMS since 1978, and before that I taught in Lewiston and South Berwick.

In my spare time I like to read, crochet, sew, and when I can afford it, travel. My family raises beagles, and I have four at home right now. They keep me pretty busy! I have two college-age children who appear now and again for a good home-cooked meal.

I enjoy teaching very much and have always taught either 7th or 8th graders. There's never a dull moment with middle schoolers! They're like little sponges, discovering and soaking up new information. I'm especially excited to be working with the laptops this year and using all the learning opportunities that will be at our fingertips. The only thing I don't like about school is the homework.
