Interested in
computers? Want to know how they work, and how to make them work? The
Computer technology program at BRVC provides an in-depth look at computers
and networks, balancing technical coursework with the opportunity for
students to apply their developing skills in lab activities, and while
supporting students and faculty. Students in this program will work side by
side with computer support professionals on a daily basis, learning the
trade from people who really do, "do it" for a living. Students in Computer Tech I will study the industry standard CompTIA A+ Computer Technician materials in preparation for becoming certified A+ Technicians. The CompTIA A+ certification is vendor-neutral, and demonstrates entry level technical competency in a wide variety of hardware and operating system environments. Students in Computer Tech II will build on their A+ skills, learning to design, install and maintain computer networks. The CompTIA Network + certification is vendor-neutral, and demonstrates competency in networking fundamentals. Network + is a logical progression on the path to becoming an IT professional. Whether you want to enter into the IT support industry as a computer technician or pursue further education in a computer science related program, the BRVC Computer Technology program is a great place to start. |
