| We have been spending
the first few weeks of school getting to know
each other and establishing many routines. We have interviewed
everyone and made a class book. We are off to a great start! First grade is so busy. We have Readers' Workshop, Writers' Workshop and math every day. We listen to stories, read our own stories, do spelling practice and word study, practice writing all kinds of things and much more. We have a new math program called EveryDay Math which also keeps us very busy. We have math homework Monday through Thursday to help practice those new skills. We also have social studies and science. We have been busy studying life cycles. We even raised a monarch caterpillar and recently let it go as a beautiful butterfly. Each day we have one of the following specials: Art, Computer, Library, Music, PE and one called Literacy/Math. We are looking forward to a great year together as we grow and learn. |
