Smith's First Grade
Tuesday, Sept. 7
We went to
art. We learned octopus tag. Some liked it and some
didn't like it. We made pictures about what we wish will happen
this year.
Wednesday, Sept. 8
On
Wednesday we listened better at Morning Meeting. We wrote o's
on the white boards.
Thursday, Sept. 9
Today we
wrote d and o in handwriting. We made a graph about our
favorite colors.
Friday, Sept. 10
We did some
more writing on the white boards. We wrote d, o, a, and
g.
Special News
Next week we will begin a science unit. Building a concept of cycles in our world is one goal for grade 1. We will become science observers as we draw a picture of the oak tree near our playground. We will do a leaf rubbing and write (as a group) about what we observe. This will be the first of four experiences as we go through the seasons and observe this cycle in nature.
