We put our eggs into an incubator. The temperature has to be around 100 degrees. The growing ducks need:
1. heat - mother or incubator
2. food - the yolk
3. moisture
4. air - 7000 pores
The mother turns the eggs every few minutes but with an incubator, 2 or 3 times a day will do. The eggs need to be cooled. Ducks - 15 - 20 minutes a day for 14 days. The red lines in the yolk are blood vessels which carry food from the yolk into the birds. The tiny birds begin to grow. It is called an embryo. The gestation period for chicks is 21 days and for ducks and geese it's 28 days.
