Hi, I'm Mrs. Bird. I have been teaching in Maine since 1974, first with preschoolers in Brunswick and Freeport, then in Bath at my own Montessori School. After closing the school, I began teaching here at Fisher-Mitchell. This year will be my sixth year with first graders. Teaching children to read and write is one of my favorite things to do.

I also love gardening and have several big flower patches around my home. Sharing my home are my husband and my two teenage sons. We have lots of pets: two cats, a funny-looking little dog, two birds, a hamster and a goldfish.
