Doctor Book Care visited Fisher Mitchell.
She told us how to treat our
books. I am Doctor Book Care and
I am here to fix books. She is holding up a book
that has the Squeezing Disease. She is hugging the book.
That is how it gets the disease. This book is in two
pieces. The spine broke and the book fell apart. It was just
an old loved book.
She is listening to the
kids questions. The book doctor is
looking for clues about the disease. She is looking closer for
clues. sometimes children forget and get food on
books. The book Doctor is
looking for the signs on her chart of diseases. She couldn't fix the
book. It died. She is putting one of the books in the
Rest In Peace bin. RIP Dr. Book Care is showing
a book with another disease.

It has the pointer
disease. When you use your pointer
finger to get a book, it make the spine tear. This is how a book gets
the mashing disease. It breaks the edge of the book and the
spine. It happens when you try to put a book on the shelf
that is too big for the shelf. This book is really not
well. The pages fall out of the
binding. the glue doesn't stick anymore. The book also has puppy
chew disease. Doctor Book Care can't
save the book. She put it in
RIP. Doctor book Care is
getting out another book. This book's pages are
falling out because it has the Shaken Book
Disease. This is how a book gets
the Shaken Book Disease. This book can be
saved. It just needs special
library glue. Doctor Book Care is
gluing it. Then she put elastics
around it to make sure it sticks in place. When She takes the rubber
bands off the book. It will be ready to be read and loved
again.

Thank you Doctor Book Care for teaching us about taking care of books.
