Local Assessments measure students' progress on the Maine Learning Results.

Third Graders will be administered:

Math Assessments  - November, February and June

A combined Language Arts and Science Assessment - April

A Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) - May/June

Students will also take the PTS in March this year. That stands for Progress Towards Standards. The standards come from the Maine Learning Results. This test is designed to show us how they will do on the MEA in fourth grade, and what their teachers will need to do to make sure they are prepared.

*It is very important for students to be well rested and in school (if healthy) when these assessments are given. All students are required to meet these standards. Your cooperation in this effort to prepare your children is greatly appreciated!
