NEWKIRK NEWS!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to third grade! This letter provides information about our classroom procedures. If you have any questions please call me at school between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. at 443 - 8265, email at jnewkirk@bathpublicschools.com or send a note with your child.
Snack
Third graders may bring a small, healthy snack each day. Snacks and beverages are available through the school cafeteria.
Supplies
Your child will need 2 standard size notebooks and a pocket folder for homework. We will share pencils and crayons and we do not have room for storing "trapper keepers" and extra items. I will let you know if the class needs more pencils or other supplies as the year progresses.
Clothing
Please try to have articles of clothing labeled with your child's name. We go outside for recess daily, so your child should dress accordingly.
Toys
Except for special circumstances, your child should not bring toys to school.
Transportation
Please keep us informed of any transportation changes. If your child is going over a friend's house he/she will need a note for the bus driver. These arrangements need to be done prior to the start of the school day.
Specials
Our schedule includes Music, Physical Education, Art ,and Library. We also have computer and French classes.
Homework Folders
I send folders home on Mondays with homework assignments, corrected work and notices. Please have your child return the folder with the completed homework by Friday.
