Alan: We are making shapes out of play dough , raising it up and showing it. Meranda: This is Ellen. She is showing us her clay shapes. We are making lines, triangles,squares, ovals, rectangles and circles. Amanda: First and Second graders played with play dough. We made squares, triangles, and circles. We held them up to show how different they were. Angela: This is the first graders playing with play dough. They are making shapes out of play dough. We learned about shapes. |

Amanda: This is the Joyce Marie. It is smaller than the Wyoming. The Wyoming is over 300 feet long. They used the tin can phone back then. Alan: We measured the Joyce Marie against the Sherman Zwicker. |

Meranda: This is the boat shop. We learned how to make circles on wood by drilling in wood. We tried not to drill in the floor. We also got to smooth wood. N. C.: There was a tractor that was going somewhere. Alan: This is the front of the boat shop. We are going to go into the boat shop and we going to drill some holes in some wood. |

N. C.: This is the Sherman Zwicker. It is about 72 feet long. It was all very fun. The last time we went to the Maine Maritime Museum, we got to go on the Sherman Zwicker. It was fun. Amanda: This is the Sherman Zwicker. It's about 72 feet long. You could fit 2 Sherman Zwickers in the Wyoming. Angela: This is the Sherman Zwicker. It's a big boat - very big. We learned to lift sails. Olivia: This is the Sherman Zwicker. Last time we were there, we went on it. |

Kate We are at the Maine Maritime Museum. We took a rope and pulled it to see how much 300 feet is. We also made some stuff out of wood. We learned how to bend a piece of wood and we learned how to shave wood. We made shapes out of play dough. The play dough was a lot of fun to play with. We also saw 2 boats too. At the end we had a snack. Bryan read us a book about an island and a girl. We all had fun at the Maine Maritime Museum. |
Maggie We went to the Maine Maritime Museum. We learned that we can drill 3 ways. One way is to drill a hole. There is a boat that is 312 feet long.
