Owney enjoyed his visit with the Flanagan 2nd grade class. He went to music
and stole the show! He loved P.E. and spending time outside with the girls
and boys. He's such a quiet and attentive dog in the classroom, too. He
seemed to love storytime. Of course, we read his book by Lynn Hall! We
introduced him to our own small "Owney" that Mrs. Montgomery brought home
from the U.S. Postal Museum this summer. This was Homecoming Week so we gave
him a light-up football for his collar. We hope our Falcons win their game
tonight. Owney was sent out today after the Homecoming Parade and should
arrive in Florida soon. We'll send out our postcards next week.
Sincerely, Mrs. Montgomery's 2nd grade.

Hi everyone!
Owney is on his way to Woodstock, GA. We had a great time with Owney.  He came just in time to help us learn about fun and fitness.  Our P.E. teacher Ms. Bailey had and Obstacle course for us to participate and Owney stole the show!  He also helped us with the OREO project where we learned about estimating, tally marks, and graphing.  You can see Owney on our webpage:

Owney's visit in SC
10/29/07
Owney made it safely to Memminger Elementary in Charleston, SC.  He made
it just in time to spend the weekend with Mrs. Granger and her family.
They took him to the "Disney on Ice" show Saturday.  He had rink side
seats!  He told Mrs. Granger he thought Cinderella was the prettiest
princess in the show.  Then they all went to the county fair.  Owney
rode all kind of rides with Matthew, Mrs. Granger's son.  They had a
blast!  He rested on Sunday, so he would have plenty of energy to meet
all of the Memminger Superstars on Monday.  After being checked by the
nurse and visiting the school office, Owney meet all the students and
teachers at Memminger.  He also had a special visit from a news reporter
from our local newspaper.  She was there to do a story about him.  She
took a lot of pictures of Owney and the Superstars.  He was quite
thrilled to know he was such an important visitor in Charleston.
Memminger gave Owney a South Carolina pin and a cup to get water with
during his travels.  Then Mrs. Granger got Owney ready for his trip.  He
left Charleston today headed to North Carolina.  The Memminger
Superstars wish Owney a safe journey!
