Hello,
Our students loved meeting Owney.  He's on his way to Ute Pass Elementary.  Owney was able to be on the announcements at our school and many students wanted to meet him personally.  Our class felt very proud!!  Thanks for sharing and good luck on your travels Owney!

Owney arrived at Ute Pass Elementary!  The class was very glad that
he had come.  We passed him around the room and everyone looked at
all the pins that were on his little harness.  We put a pin on him of
our mascot, the Mustang!  We made out all of our postcards and sent
them out.  Then, we had a party.  Owney sure loved the animal crackers!

Dear Friends of Owney,
Owney had a great visit with our three fifth grade classes. Everyone
enjoyed doughnuts and juice as they gave Owney a hug and looked at his
pins. We took pictures of Owney to add to our Owney Board. One class
even sang a Christmas song for Owney!
His visit was short, but Owney was anxious to continue his trip. He
should arrive in Maryland by December 10th.

Owney had a quick visit in sunny California. The students all think the weather is cold in the 50’s, but I know many of you would disagree. Owney met Mac, Mrs. Adams’ guide dog puppy in training. He also visited with the first graders as they practiced their play. Owney didn’t have time to visit Disneyland, but he saw a Mickey Mouse ornament at the store that he could take with him to remember Christmas time in California.

I put Owney in the mail one week ago today. I sent him priority mail,
but I didn't get to the post office until nearly closing time. With the
holidays, I'm not too surprised that Owney hasn't arrived. I'm sure Ree
planned for Owney to spend the break somewhere. I suppose it's Texas
this year. Perhaps there's some way you can get the box over the break
and take pictures around El Paso.

Hi Bev and everyone!
I am getting a bit worried. Owney still hasn't arrived here in El
Paso. We just got off today for Christmas break and won't return until
Jan. 7th so I am not sure what to do. Also, yours is the first email on
Owney I have received in quite a while and I have only gotten one
postcard so far. :(Adria Wauson
