PTA AUCTION AND RAFFLE
EXTRAVAGANZA!

The
Dike-Newell and Fisher-Mitchell PTAs are gearing up for the
First Annual Auction and Raffle Extravaganza to be held Friday, May 2,
2008 from 6-8 PM at Dike-Newell. At this event, theme baskets,
goods, and services are
auctioned*both silent and live, and raffled. There are items in
all price
and interest ranges. Savory appetizers and decadent desserts will
be served. Please join us for this well attended, family
friendly,
community-building event.
The proceeds
for this event will go to support both Dike-Newell and
Fisher-Mitchellís Curriculum Enrichment Program and other activities.
CEP
provides $1000 per grade team and $200 per specialist for extra
activities and/or field trips that directly enrich the curriculum. Such
things this program has paid for has been visits from Chewonki, local
authors, supplies
for the Kindergarten, trips to see Charlotteís Web in Portland, etc.
Without this program many of these activities could not happen.
Many
classrooms, as you may already be aware, a collecting items for theme
baskets. In addition, we are looking for donations from families
and businesses. If your family or business connection would like
to make a theme basket, or donate an item, service, opportunity,
membership, or gift certificate, it would be greatly appreciated.
We have a document and tax
ID number so that your contributions can be tax deductible.
You may have
smaller, never or little used items to donate. Perhaps a child
has duplicate board games, DVDs, or a toy that was never opened.
That would
be perfect for the raffle. We will
be asking for donations of those savory appetizers and decadent
desserts in
April.
If you would
like to donate an item, please complete the information on bottom of
the form and send it back to school with your child. For more

that both elementary PTAs will work together and both
