Jackie McKeon - Art
Art in the Huse Kindergarten Center enjoys creative motivations from many directions. Out art is inspired, first, by our own personal experiences as individuals which are diverse in beliefs, race, abilities, family structures, and culture. We find common experiences as art motivators too. For example, we live in the same city, experience the same weather and seasonal changes and share the same teachers. Often art lessons are inspired from an art history source or a literacy context. Perhaps it is a book that is in focus in the regular classroom and integrated into the studio art experience.
We are expanding our media experiences. We will begin to make paper from recycled pulp so that we can then make our own handmade books. We have access to a kiln and will continue a 3-D clay experience.
