of letters and words.
Patterning: we have made patterns in school with bears and buttons and beads and our bodies. We are even discovering patterns in our clothes. Try making some at home like these. Try making up your own new patterns.

Counting:we have been counting the days in the month. How many days are in this month? Can you count that high all by yourself? with your family?

"Patterns" are an important part of the math program as well as a skill for reading. We do lots of work with them--making, recognizing, and continuing patterns. We will use lots of different materials. |
